Regions

Resources have different prices by region. The choice of a region obviously influences latency.

Not all regions offer the same resources. The main resources are present in all regions.

The greenish-blue points represent the regions. In the case of Brazil, we have the Brazil South region which has a set of 3 separate physical datacenters, which is what's called availability zones. Choosing a region, we can work with any of the available zones or even all of them together.

Regions also group resources. It's not possible to create a resource group in the Brazil region and place a resource from another region. We can link things to make it easier, like setting up the database in another region and the app in Brazil and making the communication between them.

In a subscription, we can have multiple resource groups in different regions, but a resource group can only group resources from the same region.
